The rain didn't come today!

What a great day we had at school today!  Luckily, the rain stayed away and we were able to explore nature.  It was a little chilly, but that didn't stop us! Ms. Weller and I took a few children out for a walk around campus and investigated all sorts of fascinating things!

While those children were on the walk some of the other children had special appointments in the classroom.  Ms. Kauppi continued with her measuring appointments in the kitchen and Mrs. Potter explored photography with a few other children!

In the Maple room this morning the children continued to build their structures! Each day they are able to add to what they have already worked on.  The structures are getting bigger and more abstract everyday! It is so interesting to see all the things the children are working on!
In the afternoon today the children bundled up and went outside! A few children made some delicious sand pies and cakes in the sandbox and were having a sampling party! They expressed how excited they were for the rain to come and fill up the rain barrels so they can make mud pies soon!
The children wanted to build a large track to play on this afternoon, so they took matters into their own hands and did so! The colorful track stretched from the construction area outdoors all the way down the sidewalk.  many children visited the track to walk across it.  It was such a fun addition to the outside activities!

I hope the rain will continue to hold off the rest of the week so we can keep playing outside! Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!
