Winter Wonderland!!!!

"SNOW!!!!!!"
These were the first words exclaimed as the doors opened for outside time. The children ran, slipped, slid, threw snow, and made the first attempts at making snow men.

The snow was powdery and light. The children threw it up into the air and sent pieces soaring in the wind.

Daniel told me that the ground was slippery, as he slid his feet on the now-white fall zone.

The slide was super fast today, with the reduced friction. Thank you ice and snow pants!!!
And here we have the first CDLL snow angel! Fire up for winter!!!

Welcome back!!!

Today we lucked out with good weather and no rain! The children were asking the teachers to bring back finger painting over the last few weeks so we did just that. They had finger painting on the tables again but this time they had paper to make prints of their work so they were able to take their work home. We added several new things around the school. Like grocery carts in the Pine room, and real hammers in the Maple room. Throughout the week the children will learn and work on their skills to be able to appropriately use the material!

Elizabeth made her hand prints with the finger paint!

The community rock painting is still taking place in the Oak room this week!

Have a good week!

TS Gold: 33: Explores the visual arts

Happy Monday!

Hi Families,

Today was a fun day of exploring the new areas within the classrooms for the children. Within the Walnut room, the teachers added a pumpkin for the children to explore within the sensory table area. The children were given plastic nails and hammers to use in their exploration. In the Oak room, the children continued exploring the visual arts using natural elements. The children were using the different stampers to create different artwork to take home to families.

Have a great night,
Miss. Jackson

Movement Thursday

This morning in the Maple room Max, Dominic, and Jaquez were playing with the trains. Jaquez and Axel were transporting them around the room in the back of wooden trucks. Max and Dominic played with the trains on the circle carpet with the wooden tracks and arches. Also, Evan, Casey, Jaquez, Dakoda, and Kaden were playing with the wooden game table. In the Pine room, Gigi and Elizabeth were playing with the jewelry and said, "Were the bracelet girls." Another popular spot was the hair salon, Sabyrna was doing Nikayla's hair. This afternoon we were able to go outside after lunch, but we had to wear all of our rain gear, which includes: rain coats, rain paints, rain boots, and waterproof gloves. The rain did keep us inside this afternoon during pick up. Therefore, we had a obstacle course in the indoor movement room beginning with the tumble mat, then the balance beam, then the tunnel, and finishing with stairs. Hope you enjoy our pictures from today!!

Rainy Thursday

Today the weather was gloomy, but the children kept active inside. This morning in the Walnut room, Tommy made footprints in the play dough using the dinosaurs in the black light room. Luke, Olivia, Savanna, and Aidan worked at the water table transferring water from table to table using the tubing. In the Oak room, Mrs. Upton was working at the pottery wheel with the children. Danny and Cynthia sketched pictures of the festive corn. During the afternoon in the Maple room, Jace, Kallix, and Ms. Weller built a structure using bricks and colored stones. Sanuthi used the Legos to build an airplane. In the Pine room Nikayla had a dance party with Mrs. Gursky, Ms Goodman, and Mrs. Potter. The children made hummas in the Kitchen with Hala's mother. The children were able to spend some time outside this morning. During outside time in the afternoon we went down to the indoor movement room and moved through an obstacle course.
Alex crawled through the tunnel on his hands and knees.

Zin made a porcupine using play dough and straws.

Dakoda, Axel, and Luke walked through the mud.

We hope everyone had a good week! We will see you on Monday!

Productive Wednesday!

Today was a productive day! In the Oak room, the children were exploring with mud paint, marble painting, watercolor, collage, and paper. Here's a sneak peek at some of the activities that happened today in the Art room.
Aya said, "I'm going to color orange and green."
Zin said, "Orange."

Katherine said, "I'm making a squid and then a crown."
Carter said, "I'm making a house for my dad, mom, brother, and dog. I also need one for me."

During outside play, the children were cooperating by the playground area. They waited and took turns sliding down the slide. They either slid down backwards or on their bottoms.

Another Beautiful Day Outside

Today the CDLL took advantage of the beautiful weather outside and spent morning and afternoon centers on bikes, in the sandbox, and playing games. Christopher, Isabell and Jamie helped Mrs. Potter put water color and water into the playdough the children made earlier this week.  They kneaded the water into the dough to soften it up. Aiden, Ainsley, and Memo played a game they made up based on their Large Group book today. The book was called Abiyoyo.  They enjoyed playing it on the playground with Ms. Overbeck.

The children were very active in the Maple and Walnut rooms during centers today. The new glow in the dark playdough in the black light room has attracted many students. The maple room was very busy with trains, cars, and magnatiles.

Enjoy your evening and have a great rest of the week!
