Making a Breakfast Out of Clay!

Today in the Art Room we had a very big imagination! In the morning Olivia and Helena were working in the clay area. We talked about what the clay felt like and Olivia said, "It feels cold, and like rain to me." Then Helena said "Mine is hard, and cold and reminds me of breakfast." Helena placed the rag over her clay and started to work with the clay underneath the rag. I asked her what she was making but she told me it was a secret. Olivia was rolling her clay into a snake! Makenzie joined the group a little later, and started to make a few things too. The three girls shared the materials very well, and thought it was funny that they were all making pancakes. They also noticed the different sizes they made their pancakes. Then each of them pretended to eat the pancakes after they were finished making them!
This was when Helena was working on her "Secret Project."

Olivia wanted to see what she was working on, and Helena said, "Wait! Its almost done."

Helena showed the table what she had been working on was a pancake! So Makenzie started pressing her clay into a pancake as well!

Olivia made a pancake too, but she used a big roller to roll hers out!

Another fun way to read a story as we ended our day, Mrs. Potter wrapped up outside time by reading a story below the bridge as the children waited to be picked up. They read "The Three Billy Goats Gruff!"

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!
