Hi friends and family!

Everyone was busy making Valentine Cards today throughout the school, making them for classmates, friends and family!

In the Oak room the kids were hard at work, helping to make bean art with Mrs. Bristley for La Señorita.

We got a few new cars to add to the Maple room this week! The kids really enjoyed riding in them, taking trips to Florida, Chuck E Cheese and to their grandparents houses.

Also in the Oak room there was a lot of building with the recyclable materials going on!

During afternoon centers there was a group of students who helped Mr. Jonaitis to decorate the snowman they had built on Monday!

We hope everyone had a great day!

Happy Monday! 2/11/13

Happy Monday Everyone!

We had a great day back at school! In the Walnut room we played with marble structures, made Valentine's Day cards and played with the magnetic tiles.

In the Oak room we played with moon sand, used the pottery wheel and also made Valentine's Day cards.

In the Maple room we played with trains, made lego planes and helicopters, and played with the different toy animals.

In the Pine room we played with cats in the snow area, we had a lot of doctor visits and there was a lot of play in the cafe with children making tea and hot chocolate.

It was a very wet day outside, but the children still played on the sleds, had fun going down the slippery slide and helped Mr. Jonaitis make a big snow man.

Thursday February 7, 2013

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today the snow has finally arrived and greeted Mt. Pleasant. The children were very excited to see the snows arrival and went sledding as well as using the shovels to move the snow.

"I'm making a snow angel!" -Michael

In the Pine room, the children continue to play in the doctor area and treat other students as well as the animals at the veterinary section.
Some students show us how to use the phone by texting and how to dial in numbers.
To go along with all the snow we have received, the winter area was a big hit where Mrs. Potter read and talked about polar bears.
The children decided to play house and played different roles as the mother, daughter, boyfriend, and girlfriends. They had jobs such as a secretary, doctors as well as an owner at a restaurant.

In the Oak room, children continue to work on clay using the pottery tools. Ms. Goodman joined some students to play with the moon sand.

"When you spin this circle, that's when the clay will make make it's shape." -Sidney

Maggie pretends to teach students how to use cameras by being a teacher, takes attendance reads a story as well as teaching about respectful listening.

"You are talking when I am trying to teach. You need to show respectful listening." -Maggie

In the Walnut room, students have been experimenting the sensory table with oobleck.

When creating the oobleck, it would rise as you put the water in.

Jeremiah plays with a plastic toy person and said "He's getting higher and higher!"

Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

       Happy Tuesday Everyone,

Today in the Walnut room, the children continued to play with the corn starch and water mix, using shovels to scoop it into cups.  They also had fun playing with the marble tracks.

In the Oak room, the children glued different types of beans onto paper as a project for La Senorita's.  They also continued using the potter's wheel.

The Maple room was filled with children building with blocks, Legos, and plastic shape pieces. There were also children reading and exploring with recycled materials such as tubes.

The Pine room was very popular today with children learning in the newly added café area of the pretend room. Hot chocolate was being served to everyone around the room. There was also soup being prepared in the kitchen and babies being cared for.

While outside, the children enjoyed pulling each other on the sleds and having their teachers pull them all around the playground with them.
