Monday, June 18: Pod A

Hello! Today was our last monday of the year and, due to the stormy weather, was a different day than usual! We could not go outside for the majority of the day, so the Walnut and Oak were both open during center time.  Although the rain may kept us inside, it didn't stop the children from using their imaginations and having fun! The children participated in a lot of modeling in the dramatics play area, by taking care of baby dolls, throwing parties, and pretending to scuba dive at the beach. Jewelry making was also a popular activity today. And, there were opportunities for color mixing  watercolor with eye droppers and painting with the watercolors in the art studio that many children also enjoyed today. During our usual outdoor time, before heading to lunch, the classroom split into two groups to take a walk around the EHS building.

In the afternoon, a special snake of ice cream sundaes, along with broccoli and cauliflower, was offered. Yum! At 2:30 the weather had cleared up enough that we were finally allowed to burn some energy and go outside. The children seemed to particularly enjoy their time outdoors.

Tomorrow, the CMU police will visit to have lunch with us and to give tours of their squad cars. And, our end of the year celebration is on Wednesday from 10:30am-2:30pm. The day will be filled with activities for you and your child to enjoy, as well as a cookout. We hope to see you there!
