June 7th Pod A

Today was an extra fun day at school! In the morning, some children had the opportunity to go to the community garden on campus to plant. Children also continued to help water the plants that we have planted around our outdoor area. Other children went on bike rides around the school! This is a favorite activity. We are still working on the rainbow collage outside at the art area, and we finished the yellow arch today. We also had a painting activity at the outdoor art table. For lunch, we had a picnic upstairs on the second floor in the study room. It was really neat to see another part of the building! Then at the end of the day we had our water activities available. We had the slip n slide in the Zen garden again, but we also had something new out today. We had a bike wash that the children could ride through and clean their bikes (and themselves)! It was so much fun!

State Standards:
Children use observation skills to build awareness of plants and animals, their life cycles and basic needs.
Children begin to plan and carry out projects with increasing persistence.
Children show progress in developing and keeping friendships.
