POD A: Case of Trial and Error with Cornstarch

This week the children have been interested in the new materials at the texture table in the art studio. The children are discovering what happens when the mix water with cornstarch. Some of them are discovering, through trial and error, that the mixture does not always result in the consistency they had expected it to. By adding more and more water they discovered that the cornstarch dissolves and they do not get the 'sticky' product they had hoped for. When adding small amounts of water, a little bit at a time, they discovered that the cornstarch was 'gooey', as they had hoped. - Ms. Buckley

"If we use warm water it will melt it" - Danielle

"Is it getting harder?" - Aiden
