POD A: So many new things!

We have a lot of great new things for the children this week in POD A! In the discovery area we have Goop in the wet sensory table. It's a gooey mix of starch and glue, the kids really enjoy getting their hands gooey in the mix just like they do with the corn starch and water mix in the art center. Another fun and messy area we added to the classroom is hair gel at the light table. They can spread it around the table and see the light shine through gel. They like to use their fingers to write letters in the gel. Back in discovery in the dry sensory table packing peanuts were added. There were feathers, erasers, and felt pieces mixed in so the kids could experience the static electricity between the items, their hands, and the packing peanuts.

Lately many of the children have been making their own picnics in the pretend area so there is now a large picnic basket full of everything they need for a picnic, including blankets, glasses, and ketchup/mustard bottles! They went on many picnics today! Another major addition to pretend is a "teachers" area for the kids. They have been pretending to have group time around the large group rug so we gave them an area in pretend where they could have their own groups and use their own group items.

Looking forward to the rest of the week!
