POD A: Marching Band

Even though it was cold and rainy outside, the children were busy moving and learning inside.  This morning we had a few members from the CMU Marching Band along with the Assistant Drum Major.  We had two tuba players and a clarinetist.  They showed us what their uniform looks like, what their instruments sound like, taught us how to march, and also taught us a new cheer that they do at the football games.  The children were marching and singing along with them.  Some of us even had questions for them.  A few of the students got to help conduct the band using the baton.  After the band members left, we marched back to the classrooms to continue our day working in the centers.

Many of the children found their way to the hallway this afternoon to use the music instruments and formed their own marching band.  Other students found their way to the computers where they were typing their names and adding shapes to Word documents.  At the end of the day, we put on all our rain gear and went outside to explore.
