Today was beautiful day for Pod B's field trip to the farmers market. In the morning the children were all very excited to ride the bus to Island Park to see all the different stands at the farmers market. Once there, we split off into groups to do some learning and discovering. The children asked questions about a lot of the odd gourds and squash they had never seen before, and the vendors were very helpful with providing information.
Not only were the children able to look and ask questions about the food, but they were also able to taste and feel a lot of the fruits and vegetables. The children were able to pick out a few things to purchase. Many chose apples, pumpkins, and different kinds of gourds.
After exploring the market, the children enjoyed a picnic lunch in the park. We loaded on the bus, headed back to the CDLL, and continued to discover. Outside there were a lot of children digging in the sand, balancing on stumps, and enjoying the warm fall day.
Have a nice and relaxing weekend! We look forward to seeing you all next week!
