Music In The Air

This afternoon, the CDLL was filled with music. Children were able to explore different instruments in the hallway during center time.

Livy rolled marbles down a wooden tree to hear the different sounds the wood made.

"My music is loud! People will come out to listen to my music!" - Livy

A while later, Zoey P., Ariona, and Ericka came up with a game to play with the marbles.

"When you win, you can put a marble down!" - Ericka

Mathias and Avryl explored the wooden marble trees together. "All of the marbles are in your bowl. Can I have some too?" Mathias asked. Avryl and Mathias divided the marbles into two bowls so they each could play.

Above, Lila Beau hits different bells to hear their sounds.

Below, Ryan and Farrah both used sticks to make music on the xylophone.

"Can you hear this?" - Ryan

There was even music outside this afternoon. Ella used mallets to play music on our outdoor xylophone.

"And a one, and a two, and a three, four, five! Start the music!" - Ella

Above, Sage explored different sounds made by tins hung on the fence.

We hope that the exploration of musical instruments in the CDLL continues over the course of the semester!
