Collage Art

Today in the Oak room children explored visual arts through the creation of unique collage art pieces. Children followed the collage sequence to create their pieces; plan piece with collage materials and gluing them prior to their planning.  To create their pieces they were able to explore a variety of materials such as colored glass pieces, tissue paper squares, plastic noodles and dry natural materials. Through this activity children were able to increase their awareness of color, line, form, texture, space and design in their artwork. During the creation process children were able to communicate about their pieces and to express where their ideas came from.
I'm not sure what i want to make but this is a wave.. and the colors look like the sky. Maybe i can make a picture of outside!- David

I wanted to make something colorful, this will be a happy picture because it's colorful. - Ainsley
