Today was the first day that children were able to make a plan to decide what classroom to spend their morning activity time in. During large group they put their name next to the picture of which area they wanted to go to and headed there when group was over. They could choose any of the four classrooms, the indoor movement room, the kitchen, or the hallway.
The work bench in the Maple room was popular today! Children put on safety goggles and used the plastic hammers to pound the nails into the Styrofoam square. Many people forget the hallway is also an activity center, but it was full of music. Children played with the bells, stringed instruments, symbols, xylophone, maracas, and drums!
Early Learning Expectation: Instrumental and Vocal Music. Children show how they feel, what they think, and what they are learning through listening, participating in, and creating instrumental and vocal music experiences. Become more familiar with and experiment with a variety of musical instruments.
