Today was a very busy day in Pod A. During center time in the Oak room, many of the children participated in finger painting. They mixed red and yellow paint and watched as the paint turned orange! Another popular area was the playdoh. The children mixed hard playdoh with softer playdoh to see what would happen. In the Walnut room, the magnetic match rings were a big hit! Some children decided to make their own patterns while others decided to follow a set pattern that was on a paper. The children talked about what sides of the magnetics attracted others and what sides repelled others. The sides that repelled would cause the other magnetics to float!
Today was also picture day! The children took individual pictures and then headed outside to take a picture as a group! There were a lot of smiles going around today!
Today during small group, Pod A went on a walk to the fountains on campus! The children loved to watch the water squirt up into the air! Some of the children were reminded of fireworks when they saw the water in the air. The children also looked for fish in the fountain and saw two orange fish swimming right at the top of the water!

All Smiles Today!
Today was a fun filled adventure for Pod B! First of all, it was picture day! Luckily, everyone remembered to bring their smiles to school! They all posed individually for the photographer and then all together on the playground! The photographer had the children try and guess the number of fingers he had up behind his back.
Then in the pine room children continued to use their imaginations! Some of the children got all dressed up in really fancy dresses to have a tea party! And other children ordered speciality pizzas in the restaurant.
For small group today we took a nice walk around campus. It was beautiful outside and the children loved seeing all the different parts of nature. Some of the children even brought back some treasures that will be displayed in the Walnut room! They also had some time to climb, jump off, and even lay on the rocks near Anspach!
In the Maple room at the end of the day the children worked with puzzles and table toys. The children were so excited and proud when they were able to complete a puzzle all by themselves!

What a Fun Filled Day for Both Pods!
This morning in Pod B Mr. Jonaitis read I know an Old Lady who Swallowed a Pie for large group. We had a few volunteers step up to wear the apron that looked like the old lady. The children were so excited to say all the different things the Grandma ate!
The dress up area was a big hit today! A lot of the girls enjoyed dressing as princesses and going to the ball.
In Maple the children decided to build garages for their fire trucks and police cars so they could go around the room and save people!
Instead of small group today we decided to go down to the indoor movement area to celebrate Mr. Jonaitis' Birthday! The children sang Happy Birthday and danced to different songs working together to make today special. Everyone seemed to enjoy the time spent in the indoor movement room. Mr. Jonaitis received many Happy Birthdays and hugs through out the day!

Dancing Wednesday!!
Today was an eventful day in Pod A! For large group this morning we enjoyed hearing the story of Mouse Paint, and later in the day several kids wanted to reread and reenact the story. We spent time exploring measuring cups in the water sensory table with blue and green water today! Some children also worked on writing their names today, we practice this skill often to write their names on their artwork.
Also after lunch time the children moved together and enjoyed some music during a dance party for Mr.Jonaitis's birthday today!

Busy Bees in Pod B
Today in the Maple and Pine classrooms the students were hard at work, discovering different items in each classroom and collaborating with each other to produce work.
In the Maple Room students worked with the trains and the railroad tracks to make an intricate path for all of the students to share. The students also worked with the firetrucks, wood blocks and magnetic tiles to make buildings and garages to store the vehicles.
In the Pine Room students continued to work with the pretend materials that we have had out. The students are still getting used to the materials and figuring out what to do. Today the park scene with the dogs continued to hold the interest of the students. We also had many students utilize the cash register and the calculators at the Farmer's Market.

What a Fun Filled Monday!
Upon arriving today the children were able to plan a room that they wanted to begin their day in. This was different than last week because they were now able to discover the whole CDLL rather than stay in their home classroom. The children were very eager to make their choice and begin exploring the room they chose.
Today was a busy Monday in Pod A with lots of fun activities for the children to engage in. In the Walnut room children spent time exploring the corn in the sensory tables. Some of the children moved it from hand to hand while others used sorting trays to sort the different types of corn that was found.
In the Oak room children spent time at the texture table manipulating play-doh. Some of the children used rolling pins and plastic knives to roll and cut the play-doh. They also used cookie cutters to create different shapes and objects. Many of the children discussed how slimy the play-doh was and how it stuck to everything!
