This morning in the Walnut Room, Juli, Jude, Jaquez, Micah, PJ, and Makenzie played in the snow. Micah pushed all the snow to one side of the sensory table and pretended it was water. He was looking at the Polar Bear book and reenacting the different pictures with the bears in the water. Also, Kaden, Tony, Micah, PJ, Jaquez, and Sanuthi played in the water tables. Jaquez and PJ were transferring water back and forth and Jaquez said, "It made green." In the Oak Room, Axel, Aya, Marcilyn, Annabella, and Mackenzie all strung beads onto string and hung them around the classroom. Brooke, Sarah, Olivia K., Elizabeth, Katherine painted at the easel and Aya and Juli painted with the corn on the table. In the afternoon, we all came together in the indoor movement room and danced to We Are the Dinosaurs and different songs from Frozen. Energetic Wednesday!!

Hello Families,

Today was a busy last Wednesday until winter break. The children enjoyed moving everywhere with their friends and trying new things. There were a lot of children dressed up in CMU and CDLL apparel for Spirit Week.

The children in the Pine Room explored beginning graphing skills during large group by answering what their favorite color was. Evan noticed that blue was the most popular while Aya noticed that green and purple had the same number.

Micah and Juli showed their off their Spirit Week apparel while rocking together in the rocking chair.

Destiny explored different ways to use Play-Doh with a teacher.

Last Wednesday!

Today, the children learned something new. Children learn something new everyday. Some children learned how to put on a diaper for their baby doll and some children learned how to draw a self portrait of themselves. Here are some things that happened today.

Destiny learned how to put on a diaper for her baby doll.
Hala drew a stop sign and spelled it out. She said, "S and T and O and P."

During small group, some of the children learned how to draw a self portrait of themselves.
Elizabeth and Gigi were experimenting with the sensory bottles.

Wild & wacky Tuesday!

Today was a chilly but wacky day! During morning center time in the Walnut Room, the Insta-snow was a very popular area. Brooke, Olivia K, Dakoda, Jaquez, and AJ explored the Insta-snow with the arctic animals. The large water table was pink and the small water table was white. Tony and Andrew both wondered if it was milk instead of water! In the Oak Room, Axel and Gabrielle strung glass beads onto string for our community project. Savanna and Jamie worked together to make a collage using gems! Following afternoon center time, everyone went to the indoor movement room to play with the parachute. The children pretended they were being eaten by a Boa constrictor as we brought the parachute over our heads.
Luke and AJ explored the tubes, measuring cups, and funnels in the pink and "milk" water tables today!

Brooke and Olivia K. played with the arctic animals in the Insta-Snow.

The boa constrictor was up to our middles!

Jamie and Ela ran under the parachute and switched places while everyone held it in the air.

Have a great night and don't forget tomorrow is CDLL/ CMU day!

Wacky Tuesday

In the Pine Room this morning, Micah, Evan, Annabella, and PJ were playing with the duplos before the morning large group. Micah was playing with a truck and a pulley. He connected them together and said, "Heavy, its heavy look at it, the wheels in the front are up." Also, Alexis, Sabryna, Destiny, Gabrielle, Ainsley, Daniel, Ela, and Jude played in the kitchen throughout the morning center time. In the Maple Room, NA'Zya and Serenity were working at the construction area using the hammers and nails. Max, Zin, Pelumi, Kallix, and Sanuthi were all playing with the blocks and Ela, Juli, and Olivia L. played with the magnatiles. Even thought it was cold outside, we were able to go outside this afternoon after lunch, some children were rolling on the cold ground and pretending to make snow angels. At the end of the day, we came all together in the indoor movement room and did the parachute. Overall, today was a Wacky Tuesday.

Last Monday of the Semester!!

Hi Families,

Today was the first day of spirit week and it was fun to see the teachers and children wearing their favorite pajamas. The kids were very energetic after a long thanksgiving break. The teachers enjoyed hearing all the different things that the kids did over the weekend. During morning center time, the children in the oak room continued to explore nature being incorporated into art activities. At the light table the teachers have real fruits and vegetables for the children to explore and create different faces with. This allows children to see the different uses of foods and experiment with different emotions.

Savanna made faces with the different fruits and vegetables on the light table. She said "this face has long hair."

Serenity painted a picture for her mom using a variety of different colors.

Have a great Monday!
